Winning photography contests is by no means the be-all and end-all but it does let you put ‘award-winning’ before your name and keeps your skills fresh. Challenging yourself to fulfil a competition brief and exploring your creative potential can only be a benefit in terms of developing your craft – not to forget some of these contests come with some epic prizes! Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020

Open for entries/ Closes 5 April
LPOTY was founded in 2006 by esteemed landscape photographer Charlie Waite, and aims to celebrate all that is great about the British landscape, and showcase the work of many talented photographers. The contest comprise four categories: Classic View, Urban Life, Your View and – new for this year – Black & White.

ND Awards

International Photography Awards

Open 1 June 2020/ Closes January 2021
The Sony World Photography Award has four photo contests: Professional, Open, Youth and Student. The prizes are generous and the prestige is even better.
